Man docks boat with masterful style. You’ll laugh with envy.

We all know that alcohol can affect judgement, vision, balance and coordination. What you might find surprising is that individuals operating a boat may become impaired faster than an automobile driver because of engine noise, sun, wind, and spray.

According to the 2014 Recreational Boating Statistics report, the U.S. Coast Guard counted 4,064 accidents in 2014. Alcohol was the leading factor in 21% of those deaths. The U.S. Coast Guard also found that “in boating deaths involving alcohol use, over half the victims capsized their boats and/or fell overboard.”

AV-OG-TIL, a Norwegian NGO, is trying to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking while operating a boat. Their solution is this clever viral video that shows how “docking a boat is an art form best practiced sober.”
